I have many more pieces of art listed. I have prints, paintings, watercolors, limited editions, and more. I will combine shipping when possible.
Here is a rare, matching pair of authentic early 19th-century French Neoclassical stipple and line engravings depicting famous scenes from Virgil's epic Roman poem, the Aeneid. Originally designed by the French artist Chaillau during the Empire period (circa 1800–1815), the mythological scenes feature beautiful hand-applied coloring and dot-and-line detail work.
Please note that the original rag paper has been fully glued down (laid down) to an old cardboard backing by a past owner. Because of this, the prints are structurally rigid and cannot be rolled or peeled off. They are being sold strictly as-is for decorative or historical framing display.
******SOME STATES ARE NOW CHARGING SALES TAX ON PURCHASES. I THINK IT'S BS AND WRONG, BUT EBAY DOES IT AUTOMATICALLY. I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER IT. VOTE TO CHANGE THINGS!
*****BE SURE TO CHECK THE SHIPPING TAB! THE SHIPPING SHOWN MAY NOT BE THE CHEAPEST. I USUALLY HAVE DIFFERENT CHOICES.
****** INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS: I USE THE INTERNATIONAL GLOBAL SHIPPING PROGRAM. CLICK ON THE SHIPPING TAB AND SELECT YOUR COUNTRY. IT SHOULD SHOW YOU THE SHIPPING COSTS. IF YOUR COUNTRY IS NOT SHOWN, THEN I WILL NOT SHIP THERE! I DO NOT MAKE THE IMPORT COSTS AND SHIPPING COSTS. THE EBAY SHIPPING CENTER DOES. BUYER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL IMPORT COSTS.
RETURNS: I will accept 'free' returns ONLY if the item is not as described. IF you don't like it, doesn't fit, changed mind, etc, there MAY be a deduction in the refund to repay the return shipping I am charged. Original shipping is NOT refundable for any reason. PLEASE understand this, especially if you are buying something that costs a lot of money to ship because you will not get that original shipping refunded and I may deduct return shipping fees (figured on a case by case basis). Thank you.
**** I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE SHIPPING CARRIERS AS LONG AS THE PACKAGE WILL ARRIVE AT THE SAME TIME, OR EARLIER, THAN WHAT THE BUYER CHOSE.
