Pretty Polly was founded in 1919 (and has been a UK hosiery institution since then - there cannot be many British women over recent decades who have not worn PP tights or stockings). They were real innovators - matching top-quality manufacturing with fabulous styles, partnering with renowned fashion icons for modelling and designs, and along the way producing some very memorable advertising! (see video). Sadly - along with Aristoc - PP went into administration in May 2026 😢, making their lovely hosiery just that little bit more difficult to find....
These are some of their completely lovely vintage-style 'Nylons' stockings. This legendary range evokes the glamour of the 40s but utilises modern methods and yarn technology for superb fit and comfort. The best of both worlds!
These gorgeous stockings are ultra-sheer. Just like the stockings of yesteryear, they have elegant contoured legs and feet, with toe reinforcement. They're also made with a modern, ultra sheer 10 denier yarn, for superb smooth leg coverage and an eye-catching gloss finish (very elegant, particularly in evening lighting, where they pick up what light there is to give a superbly-defined, 'polished' silhouette to the legs). They're topped off with lovely deep lace tops to create a beautiful piece of legwear: a fabulously easy way to add some retro glamour to your lingerie - and a cert to make you look (and feel) amazing!
This pair is colour Black and Size 2 (corresponding to Medium / Large. This was the largest size in which these were available - see pics for detailed sizing chart).
Unopened, unworn. Packaging is in superb condition, making these ideal for gifting to a loved one, or a special, sensuous treat to yourself.
