Beautiful late Victorian watch chain, doubled into a layering necklace featuring an ornate sliding centerpiece accented with small ruby-red glass cabochons and seed pearls. the second layer charm features an ornate sun design with star shaped centerpiece featuring a matching ruby-red glass cabochon, giving the piece a particularly elegant late-19th-century appearance.
The chain is constructed as one continuous loop threaded through the slide, making it very easy to wear today as a long necklace in addition to its original use as a watch chain. In its doubled configuration, it measures approximately 23.5 inches laid flat; the continuous chain itself is approximately 47 inches in total length if opened at the connecting ring and extended.
