Up for auction is an original Rawlings Bill Doak model split finger baseball glove. Model 5BD., manufactured from 1945-1949. The silver stamped writing still strong and visible. The tag is absolutely mint. There is cool two tone leather in the pinky portion. The condition of this glove is absolutely insane! The leather is soft and supple. I have had this for 20 years and have never had to put conditioner on it. It is the absolute best example of a vintage baseball glove I have ever seen in 20 years of collecting. Most gloves of this age, the leather is hard and crusty. The pictures absolutely do not do this beauty justice. It’s time to part with this gem and pass it onto someone else who will appreciate it as much as I did. You can even play catch with it! Two hands, please! 😆
