Exceptional pair of Magnat Quantum 908 floorstanding loudspeakers, supplied with their front grilles. Both speakers have been thoroughly inspected and tested by TechnoGold and are in perfect working order and excellent cosmetic condition. The sale includes both loudspeakers.
The Quantum 908 was the flagship floorstanding model of Magnat’s Quantum 900 series, documented in the manufacturer’s 2006–2007 catalogue. These impressive speakers combine an elegant, slender profile with an ambitious six-driver configuration designed for demanding stereo systems.
Each cabinet features a three-way bass-reflex system comprising three 170 mm bass drivers, two 170 mm midrange drivers and one 25 mm dome tweeter. The two midrange drivers sit above and below the tweeter, while the three lower drivers reproduce the bass.
The bass and midrange drivers feature lightweight, rigid aluminium cones and neodymium magnet technology. This sophisticated construction combines substantial radiating area with a relatively narrow cabinet, making the Quantum 908 a distinctive design within Magnat’s range.
Power handling is rated at 320 watts nominal and 560 watts maximum per speaker. Manufacturer specifications include a sensitivity of 91 dB, an indicated impedance of 4–8 ohms and a declared frequency range of 18 Hz to 75,000 Hz. Crossover frequencies are specified at 250 Hz and 3,500 Hz.
The cabinets feature a beautiful wood finish, contrasting front baffles and substantial bases. Both front grilles are included, allowing the buyer to choose between the discreet covered appearance and the striking exposed-driver presentation shown in the photographs.
Each speaker measures approximately 237 mm wide × 1,330 mm high × 400 mm deep, according to the manufacturer’s catalogue. Their tall proportions and substantial cabinets make them an impressive addition to a dedicated listening room.
The rear connection panels feature four gold-plated terminals supporting bi-wiring or bi-amping. Cable bridges are installed for conventional connection using a single speaker cable per cabinet. These are passive loudspeakers and require no mains connection or voltage converter.
Both speakers have been carefully revised and tested by our specialist technical team, confirming correct operation of all drivers and connections. Before dispatch, we perform a further preventive inspection and listening test to ensure they leave our premises working correctly.
