PUFFIN PICTURE BOOKS ESTATE LOT OF 11
PENQUIN - LITHO BY VARIOUS - APPROX 8.75x7.2"
Offered is a sharp lot (see condition description for item details) of 11 titles of these early Penguin series books aimed for educating the youth market, with some common, some scarce & uncommon (the first of only two lots we are offering to finish out the Puffins). From Betty's extensive Puffin collection (many sent to them from the Penguin files in later file swaps between the two publishers) from the library of Betty and Ian Ballantine (located in Bearsville, NY and originally handled by JMW Auction Services), the founders of Bantam and Ballantine Books and icons in the field of editing and publishing! Some of these have a light pencil edition number on the front cover, written by Betty & usually in the Penguin logo circle inside the penguin, for easier collating (if present, noted below in description). All come with a small Certificate Of Provenance of the collection. Descriptions below note the numbering (usually inside front cover) and other factors to denote printing, date, condition (book grade up to NF, Fine, nothing higher), page quality, author(s) and if pencil number by Betty is present.
