Completely fallen apart
scrapbook no binding. Just loose pages,
many chipped and loose items that belonged to a Geneviene Burt. Title page has her name and date of
1908. Items date from 1908 to 1911. Includes photographs, school ephemera,
newspaper clippings related to social events she attended and other
souvenirs. Seems like at this time they
printed a lot of news about people from the town visiting other people in other
towns. One real neat photo that is captioned
Shelbyville and shows two boys staging a fake safe robbery with a calendar
dated 1910 in the background. I believe this
is from a trip to Shelbyville Tennessee that I saw a newspaper clipping on. Another funny notation on a page from January
1, 1908 indicates Prohibition has gone into effect and its so dry it doesn’t even
rain. All kinds of stuff but pages are
chipping and continue to shed when handled.
Some decent stuff can still be salvaged and the family can be further
researched based on all the newspaper clippings
