#10 Jazz Pro-Custom Beechler "Diamond Inlay" Alto Sax mouthpiece (S 10 L) - Asking Price $450.00 ea. (2 available). Bonus: Rovner "Van Gogh" ligature & cap included ($85 value).

Experience the world of "elevated expectations" when playing this #10 Pro-Custom Beechler "Diamond Inlay" Alto Sax mouthpiece. This premium mouthpiece was handcrafted & personally customized/optimized by Beechler's own top craftsman using their own vintage virgin stock blanks remaining from the 1950s! Once the first one was made and performance tested, I ordered another exact duplicate for backup.

It offers an exceptional playing experience for Solo, Lead, Straight Ahead Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Bop, Pop, Rock, etc., and even "Classical/Legit" with a change of ligature & reed!

Fully Designed & "Customized" to optimized perfection, this mouthpiece is a blend of tradition and innovation, featuring a long facing, high baffle, "D-shaped Chamber," and the coveted Diamond Inlay design that enhances full spectrum overtones for a rich, smooth, free-blowing response.

Whether you're an intermediate beginner, advanced player, or an expert looking for a professional custom sound, this mouthpiece, made in the United States, is sure to elevate your musical journey.

Beechler vintage stock is true period American hard rubber of the 1950s–early era.

In the 1990s Beechler still had (and would occasionally use) remaining blanks from their earlier production periods. Recent statements from the company confirm they retained original Great Neck, NY-era blanks (company founded ~1950) and have finished some of those as “new vintage” pieces.

These two custom Diamond Inlay alto mpcs are made from those older blanks, so they carry the material character of that generation rather than modern formulations. Many players associate that era’s ebonite with a particular warmth, density, and “organic” response that is hard to replicate exactly with later materials.

I have personally played & toured with the Army & Air Force bands for 32 years using this very amazing mpc.! I actually first began playing a Beechler "Diamond Inlay" in 1973, following suit of my private teachers who were students of Prof. William (Bill) Calkins (Woodwind Dept. Head, and Hollywood Studio musician) @ Northridge Univ., CA. He played the Beechler mpc. for Clasical, Jazz, and studio recording. I had the privilege of studying sax, flute, & clarinet with him before & after my European Tours in two Army Bands, as a featured soloist.

Beloved... This piece has given me such great pleasure & satisfaction that I had no "need" to try or test other mouthpieces! Nothing else I heard or played could match the sound, feel, & performance of this Beechler!

It produces an incredible "cutting edge" for big band Lead playing, but also blends perfectly for sax soli sections, as well as, unisons with Trumpet, Flugal, & Bone.

The solo sound for ballad features is rich, sweet & intoxicating with full spectrum overtones, and a dark "core" that projects, carries & bounces off the back wall of a concert hall. The pitch sound "center" is retained when pushed to max, however once the max limit is reached you discover there is still "more," if you have the "chops!"

It is capable of ffff, but also ppp lush subtones. "Altissimo" is seemingly effortless, as well.
