Up for sale is a beautiful, highly complete pair of antique rimless pince-nez eyeglasses with Chain & Original Case.

Dating from the late Victorian to Edwardian era.

Unlike modern glasses, pince-nez clip directly onto the bridge of the nose using a flexible spring mechanism.  This exceptionall well preserved set fetures a thin, gold-toned retaining chain connected to its original hairpin attachment, designed to anchor the spectacles safely to the users clothing or hair.

The set comes in its original hard shel, velvet-lined opticians case.  The top lid features stunning, clear gold embossedlettering that reads:
'Mallard Spence, Brent St, Hendon. NW4.

This makes the piece a wonderful slice of local North London socialhistory, originating from the historic commercial hub of Brent Street in Hendon.

Perfect for Antique Collectors.
