🔍 Obverse (Front) Design:

Engraved in deep forest-green and pale celadon-tint underprint. The top center displays the bank title in traditional calligraphy: 行銀省西山 (Shansi Provincial Bank). In the center is an oval pictorial medallion depicting a towering multi-tiered ancient Chinese pagoda overlooking rolling hills. Flanking the center vignette are ornate frames reading 圓壹 (One Yuan), with 山西 (Shansi) along the inner sides. Features dual red prefix and serial numbers P3975142, two vermilion red seal handstamps, and bottom date notation "印月七年五十二國民華中" (July Republic Year 25 / 1936) above the imprint "製廠刷印北西" (NWPF).

🔍 Reverse (Back) Design:

Executed in a bold royal blue intaglio print featuring a dense microprint background repeating the words "ONE YUAN / SHANSI". The top ribbon states THE SHANSI PROVINCIAL BANK, surrounding large numeral 1s and central text ONE YUAN / NATIONAL CURRENCY / SHANSI 1936. Facsimile managerial English signatures flank the center (left signed Y. Fu, right signed C.K. Lu). Lower border credits "NORTH WESTERN ENGRAVING & PRINTING FACTORY".
