Vintage U.S. Army 82nd Engineer Battalion distinctive unit insignia pin.

The silver-tone and red enamel crest features the battalion’s bull or ox design above a scroll bearing the motto “STRENGTH AND COURAGE.” This design is associated with the 82nd Engineer Battalion, commonly connected with the “Blue Babe” bull/ox symbolism.

The pin has two intact mounting posts and includes two clutch fasteners. A circular letter hallmark, possibly a circled “P,” appears on the reverse. The exact manufacturer and production period are unknown.

A nice addition to a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, distinctive unit insignia, or military crest collection.
