Beautiful large antique vintage 1917 Belgium Castle Reverse Glass Painting on carved wooden frame. Features bright colors with mother of pearl shell inlay and foil artwork. Signed near bottom "Castle in Belgium, copyrighted 1917 Chicago Portrait Co, Chicago" Reverse painting on "bubble" convex glass, framed inside a wooden frame with carved features of flowers. Frame measures approx. 25-5/8" High x 18-5/8" Across 1-5/8" Deep.

Painting is in PRE-OWNED condition with some flaws. There are some spots where it looks like the shell inlay have fallen down and you can see the foil underneath. There are also some spots where there is painting wear and cracking. The glass is in good shape- no cracks or chips on the frontside. I have not removed the glass from the frame, so there may be some chipping along the glass edges. The frame has finish wear, scratches, and nics. The frame is missing some nails; buyer will need to add some nails to secure the glass to the frame for a tighter fit. See all pictures for details and condition.
