What is “Kinji Hakari”?
Kinji Hakari is one of the most polarizing and fiercely charismatic characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. Introduced as a third-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High—though currently suspended due to clashing with conservative higher-ups—Hakari is widely recognized by his peers and teachers as a powerhouse with immense potential, with Satoru Gojo himself naming him as one of the few students who could eventually rival his own strength.

Hakari's cursed energy is uniquely characterized by its rough, sandpaper-like texture, which deals extra bruising impact upon physical contact even without specialized techniques. His true brilliance, however, lies in his innate technique, Private Pure Love Train, and his domain expansion, Idle Death Gamble. Rooted in his deep obsession with romance-themed pachinko machines, Hakari's domain turns combat into a high-stakes, randomized gambling game.

Within the domain, Hakari leverages probability, domain counter-measures, and sheer psychological warfare against his opponents. If he hits a jackpot, he enters an immortal state for four minutes and eleven seconds, during which infinite cursed energy constantly overflows his body, automatically healing any fatal damage in real time. This temporary invulnerability makes him nearly impossible to defeat during a jackpot streak.

Beyond his combat prowess, Hakari operates as a savvy entrepreneur in the underground jujutsu sorcerer society, running illegal fight clubs known as the Gachinko Fight Club. This business acumen grants him vast financial resources and a formidable network of underworld connections, making him an invaluable ally to Yuji Itadori and the main cast as they prepare for the Culling Game. Brash, confident, and utterly addicted to the thrill of excitement, Hakari embodies the chaotic energy of modern sorcery.
