Notes

This volume bears the internal drop-title: “Vol. II. Being the Reports & the Scientific Work undertaken by Dr. E. A. Wilson and the surviving members of the Expedition.”

Published shortly after the tragic end of the Terra Nova expedition, this volume records the scientific achievements of the expedition, including natural history observations, geographical work, and cartographic surveys undertaken by the expedition’s surviving members.

While lacking the narrative volume, Volume II stands strongly on its own as a record of the expedition’s scientific ambition and intellectual legacy. It contains important contributions by Dr. Edward A. Wilson and others, together with photographic documentation by Herbert Ponting, whose images remain among the most iconic visual records of Antarctic exploration.

A compelling work for collectors of polar exploration, Antarctic history, and early twentieth-century scientific expeditions.
