Hestia Greek Goddess Statue ~ Hand Finished Resin ~ 8.5” tall.
This neoclassical sculpture represents Hestia the ancient Greek goddess of the hearth, family, and domestic life.
The composition is inspired by the iconic classical subject Danaide (originally sculpted in marble by Auguste Rodin), which traditionally depicts a woman pouring water or holding a basin. In modern Greek and Italian revivals, this exact design is widely produced, where she is shown tending to her hearth basin or font.
The bottom of the base shows striated machine-cut marks and a smooth, unpolished texture typical of a modern moulded material rather than hand-carved stone. There is a faint rectangular residue mark in the centre where a paper maker's label once existed. No other marks to the base.
The statue measures 8.5” tall and the oval base is 3.3” x 2.6”.
