The 1960s-era "Jack and the Beanstalk" entry was a Los Angeles County float that appeared in the January 1, 1960 Tournament of Roses Parade

The float was highly successful, winning the prestigious Theme Prize in that year's parade. 

True to the classic fairy tale, it featured floral representations of the story's main characters, including women riding the float amid the elaborate, flower-covered scenery.

The original historic photographs documenting the float's construction and its run down the Pasadena parade route are preserved in the Los Angeles Public Library Photo Collection and can be viewed online via the California digital library Calisphere.
