This document is the Invoice of Stores, completed and signed by Captain Augustus Merrill. Merrill was later awarded the Medal of Honor for action at Petersburg, Virginia. With 6 men, Captain Merrill captures 69 Confederate prisoners and recaptured soldiers that had fallen into the enemy’s hands. He was awarded on October 23,1891.

This hand written form lists the items Merrill transferred over to 1st Lieutenant William C Phinney. These items included 18 Springfield rifled muskets, bayonet scabbards, cartridge boxes and other items.
