A charming piece of handmade British studio craft by Andrew Hague, who trained under Marianne de Trey at Shinners Bridge Pottery before establishing Askrigg Pottery in North Yorkshire in 1978.
This high-fired stoneware lidded pot/trinket bowl features a gentle pedestal foot and is finished in Hague’s signature speckled light oatmeal/ash glaze. The body and lid are decorated with fluid, brush-applied cobalt blue and iron brown abstract botanical motifs framed by cobalt painted banding.
The piece bears Andrew Hague’s impressed personal "AH" seal mark on the unglazed stoneware clay near the base.
