Offered here is an original 1917 Cost of Feed for Mules and Horses used to haul supplies to the Camp Bird Mine and Atlas Mine, written up from the Estate of John Ashenfelter. Ashenfelter was a prominent freighter in the San Juan Mountains taking over from where Dave Wood left off in the late 1890's. John passed away around 1912, leaving his "estate" to continue the business for a few more years. Well detailed cost that includes the Camp Bird Mine, the Mountain Top Mine, the Atlas Mine and a couple of individuals noted. Great display reference of Ouray County mining history. Thanks for looking!
