Rare and absolutely beautiful oversize wool shawl with a Provencal French Country pattern in mauve, black stripes, and soft accent hues, made by J. Brochier for the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, likely reproducing a rare French textile in their collection. Soft, supple wool from Brochier, founded by Jean Brochier in Lyon in 1890. Oversize format, measuring 53" square. Highly recommended - this is comparable to scarves and shawls from Souleiado and Les Olivades, and much more scarce. In excellent condition, free of holes or stains or fading.
