The LaisDCC 860027 is a compact DCC LED Resistor Board designed specifically for model railway enthusiasts to simplify, downsize, and clean up locomotive LED wiring installations
Key Specifications & Design
- Dimensions: A highly compact footprint measuring just 17mm × 8mm, making it narrow enough to seamlessly fit into space-restricted narrow hood diesel locomotives.
- Resistor Configuration: It features eight onboard 1K Ohm 1/8W SMD resistors, supporting up to 8 separate lighting functions (e.g., directional headlights, reverse lights, and auxiliary cab lighting)
- Electrical Safety: Engineered for hardwired installations utilizing DCC Mobile, Sound, or Lighting decoders that provide a 12V output on the function common (blue) wire. It protects LEDs by stepping down current without relying on unsafe battery power.
- Installation Overview
- Installation requires basic soldering skills:
- Decoder Power: Connect the blue wire from your DCC decoder directly to the positive pad marked “Blue Wire (+)” on the board.
- LED Anodes: Connect the wire running to the anode (positive leg) of each LED to the corresponding function pads labeled FL, RL, or 1 through 6
