This kit provides the mounting bracket and associated hardware for fitting Eagle Iron teardrop-style air cleaners to applicable Harley-Davidson Evolution models.

The original package is dated 05/92.

Fitment according to the original Eagle Iron label:

• 1984-on Evolution 883, 1100, 1200 and 1340cc models
• Excludes 1991 & later XL Sportster models
• For 1992 1340cc models, OEM threaded adapter P/N 29304-92 must also be used

Harley-Davidson's own instructions for kit 29208-87T describe its application as 1986–1990 XL and 1984–1992 Evolution 1200/1340 models, while period aftermarket catalogues describe it more generally as an air-cleaner support kit for Evolution Big Twin and XL applications.
