Circa 1968 promotional portfolio for Herman Wohlsen’s Sons, Inc., Lancaster, Pennsylvania general contractors established in 1890. Oversize hardcover measures 12-1/2" x 9-1/2", extensively illustrated with b&w photographs documenting the firm’s institutional, commercial and industrial projects throughout Lancaster County and south-central Pennsylvania. Includes work for Franklin & Marshall College, Elizabethtown College, Armstrong Cork Company, Lancaster Free Public Library, Watt and Shand, Autohaus, and numerous area schools, with architects identified throughout and several projects photographed during construction. Includes a brief company history and photographs of Wohlsen family members and company officers. Only light handling evidence to edges, with a touch of soiling to the cover surfaces. An appealing and apparently scarce piece of Lancaster-area architectural, business and construction ephemera documenting the region’s mid-century development. VG
