A landmark effect pedal that pioneered the history of overdrive.

This is BOSS's first overdrive pedal, released in 1977. Its unique asymmetrical clipping produced a natural drive sound that greatly influenced subsequent overdrive pedal development. This particular unit is a 1982 Japanese-made model, featuring a 052-281E circuit board with black screws. Equipped with the original glossy JRC4558D chip, it delivers the natural drive sound and excellent boost performance characteristic of vintage BOSS pedals. A legendary piece of equipment indispensable to the history of overdrive.

While there are signs of use commensurate with its age, including scratches, paint peeling, and tarnishing on the exterior, it is in perfect working order. Considering its age, it is in good condition.
