Murano (?)  Aqua Blue With Gold Flecks 1950's Bowl Pontil Scar & Applied Handle

This glass piece features a classic Venetian gondola or seashell shape with beautifully crimped, ruffled edges.

The vibrant aqua-blue color, gold flecks combined with the clear glass handle and base are indicative of the masterful mid-century Italian hand-blown technique that makes Murano art glass highly collectible.

Balotón (Murano technique): If this is an Italian piece (as indicated by the gold-flecked aventurine handle), the specific technique is called Balotón. The artisan presses the hot glass into a metal mold with small pyramid-shaped spikes. This prints a cross-relief mesh pattern onto the exterior, creating a distinct quilted illusion that catches the light brilliantly across the ruffles.

There are no chips, cracks or flea bites.
