Basic functions tested and working, with the cartridge mounted on a turntable and confirmed to output sound from both left and right channels, track records without skipping, and make solid electrical contact through the headshell lead wires. The cartridge body is in good overall shape, though the cream-colored stylus assembly shows age-related yellowing, the mounting screw on the headshell has light surface tarnish, and the white headshell stand has small scuffs and fine scratches on its sides. This is the classic Shure M44-7, a high-output moving magnet cartridge long favored by DJs for scratching and heavy tracking, and it ships already mounted on a genuine Technics headshell with lead wires attached, together with a stylus guard, a weight plate, a screwdriver, a stylus brush and the Technics overhang gauge. Please note that the stylus is a used part with an unknown number of hours on it, so its remaining life cannot be guaranteed and a replacement stylus may be desirable for critical listening.
