Photograph Notes: Soft shield-fern (Polystichum setiferum) on the bank of Killingan Stream, Sedlescombe. This fern is easy to distinguish from the way the fronds unfurl with bobbles at the tips. Later in the year it is very similar to other widespread species. Some of last year's fronds can be seen in the background of this picture (e.g. top left).
