Donovan Phillips Leitch (born May 10, 1946) is a Scottish singer, songwriter and guitarist who became one of the best-known folk-rock and psychedelic-pop performers of the 1960s. Performing simply as Donovan, he gained international fame with songs including “Catch the Wind,” “Sunshine Superman,” “Mellow Yellow,” “Hurdy Gurdy Man,” “Season of the Witch” and “Atlantis.” His music blended folk, pop, jazz, blues and Eastern influences, and he became closely associated with the counterculture of the era. Donovan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
