This 3D-printed case gives you another option: crack open the original housing, replace the battery, and fit the circuit board into a brand-new, fully functional case. But be honest with yourself — this is a hands-on DIY job. Strong practical skills are required. If you're not confident with small, delicate work, this is not for you. Buy it, then hand it to someone who is.

What's Involved — A Delicate DIY Project:

1. Open the original key: The factory housing is sealed and cannot be opened normally. You must carefully cut or crack it open along the edges — without damaging the sensitive electronics inside.

2. Remove the old battery: The original battery is spot-welded directly to the circuit board. These solid welds must be carefully snipped or broken to release the old cell.

3. Fit the new battery & close the case: Connect a fresh CR2032 3V coin cell, place the board into the replacement case, and close the two halves. A drop of super glue is recommended for a secure seal.

⚠️ Honest Advice: If your DIY skills are limited, do not buy this expecting an easy job. Instead, purchase the case and have a professional or experienced friend assemble it for you. This part is a solution for people who enjoy careful, detailed work — not a five-minute plug-and-play fix.
