A detailed Victorian map showing the Australian states with a list of counties . It shows Western Australia - Alexandra Land and North Territory - Queensland - New South Wales - Victoria - Tasmania. It shows what look like railway routes; also telegraph route of The British Australian Telegraph Cable, and overland cable routes.

This series of encyclopaedias were first published between c1868-1870's through to the 1880's and later; this is from the more sought after earlier series. There are subtle differences between the earlier and later maps; ie cable routes etc.

Suitable for framing. It is on good quality paper with a blank reverse. There is an original 'as published' fold to the centre. The map measures overall 310x240 mm (12.25x9.5 ") approx. incl. borders. There is a little age yellowing consistent with the age. This item will be packaged inside a protective plastic sleeve inside a board backed envelope. "Info." in the description is my research, although relevant to the accompanying image or article, is not necessarily in the text.
