Striking Art Deco amazonite and marcasite drop pendant, featuring a substantial faceted rectangular blue-green stone held within an ornate geometric setting.
The large central stone displays the characteristic blue-green coloration and natural white mottling associated with amazonite. The surrounding metalwork features geometric openwork, beaded detailing and small faceted marcasite-style accents, with an articulated lower drop adding movement and an especially elegant Deco appearance.
The strong geometric construction, contrasting gemstone and decorative metalwork are characteristic of jewelry produced during the Art Deco period, approximately 1920s–1930s. Comparable period pieces were produced in Germany and elsewhere in Europe using amazonite, marcasite and silver.
