HELIX V TWELVE DSP MK2
The new king of multitools
The V TWELVE DSP MK2 is the new solution for upgrading premium sound systems in today's vehicles. Like its predecessor, it combines 12 high-level inputs, 6 RCA inputs, 14 DSP channels, and 12 power amplifiers with up to 160 watts RMS at 2 ohms in an ultra-compact housing that occupies the footprint of just two envelopes.

Multifunctionality reimagined
Even if a vehicle comes equipped with a premium sound system from the factory, whose amplifier often has more than 10 channels, the sound quality doesn't always meet expectations. Replacing existing components is often impossible, so the only option for upgrading is an amplifier with the same number of high-level inputs.

For this reason, the HELIX V TWELVE DSP MK2 offers not only 12 high-level inputs but also just as many amplifier channels to ensure optimal integration with existing multi-channel sound systems. Furthermore, the V TWELVE DSP MK2 is also equipped with a digital input and an HEC slot, which allows the sound system to be expanded with additional signal sources, such as Bluetooth streaming or the integration of a high-resolution audio player.

The management of the legendary fourteen (14!) separate DSP channels is handled by the powerful, integrated 64-bit DSP in conjunction with our unique DSP PC tool software.

Furthermore, the newly installed, future-proof Smart Control Port (SCP) facilitates the connection of accessories and, in addition to a compact and secure plug connection, offers an integrated power supply for remote controls such as the CONDUCTOR or DIRECTOR, which significantly reduces the number of cables required and thus the required installation space.

Virtual Channel Processing – this is how signal routing works today
Adapting to modern factory sound systems, with their increasing number of signal inputs, necessitates ever more complex signal routing within the amplifier. This is especially true when multiple input signals are mixed together and then split into multi-way systems, quickly pushing conventional routing concepts to their limits. Audiotec Fischer's new, multi-stage "Virtual Channel Processing," in conjunction with the renowned user-friendly DSP PC-Tool software, allows even highly complex system configurations to be easily mapped and proprietary FX sound features such as "RealCenter" or "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" to be freely assigned. However, thanks to its enormous number of channels, the V TWELVE DSP MK2 is also a prime example of applications where 1:1 routing (IOR) is advantageous.

Rapid computing power – thanks to ACO
Such a massive number of channels demands not only significant processing power in the signal path – Audiotec Fischer's proprietary 32-bit ACO platform handles all control tasks and ensures ample speed, especially for data communication with our DSP PC-Tool software, but also for lightning-fast switching between up to ten possible sound setups. The fantastic sound effects associated with the ACO platform, such as Augmented Bass Processing, StageXpander, and RealCenter, are standard features of the V TWELVE DSP MK2, as is a 12-channel input EQ with Input Signal Analyzer (ISA) for easy analysis and compensation of input signals from OEM radios.

Perfect sound without compromise.
The sound performance of the new HELIX V TWELVE DSP MK2 is as impressive as its range of functions. Highly efficient Class GD technology and state-of-the-art BurrBrown AD and DA converters ensure optimal sound performance, the best possible signal-to-noise ratio, and minimal distortion. Thus, despite its extreme flexibility and very compact design, the V TWELVE DSP MK2 is an absolute sonic masterpiece and can easily hold its own against the very best in its class.

Special features:
Pure Class GD amplifier technology
The Pure Class GD concept combines the advantages of Class G technology with the principles of a Class D amplifier. This results in an exceptionally high efficiency, surpassing even conventional Class D amplifiers. The Pure Class GD concept demonstrates its advantages at low and medium output levels by varying the internal supply voltage of the power stages depending on the amplitude of the input signal. Furthermore, the entire analog signal path in this amplifier is fully symmetrical, which benefits both distortion and signal-to-noise ratio.

ACO – Advanced 32 Bit CoProcessor
The HELIX V TWELVE DSP MK2 amplifier utilizes a particularly powerful, latest-generation 32-bit coprocessor for all internal and external control and communication tasks. In contrast to the previously used 8-bit processor, this results in significant speed advantages, not only when switching between different sound setups but especially in data communication with our DSP PC-Tool software. Another key advantage is the coprocessor's integrated, native bootloader.
This enables software upgrades for all components of the integrated DSP, allowing, for example, the microcontroller-controlled ADEP.3 circuit to be adapted to future changes in factory radio diagnostic systems or to expand the device with additional interfaces.
Furthermore, thanks to the new flash memory, the ACO offers space for 10 sound setups instead of the usual two.

Intelligent high-level input ADEP.3
Modern, factory-installed car radios are becoming increasingly intelligent in their diagnostics of connected speakers. The latest generation, in particular, is equipped with additional monitoring functions, which can lead to error messages or even malfunctions when an additional amplifier is connected. The new ADEP.3 circuit (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection Generation 3) prevents these problems without unnecessarily straining the radio's speaker outputs at high volume levels.

Power Save Mode
The Power Save Mode is enabled in the default settings of the DSP PC-Tool software. It allows the power consumption of the V TWELVE DSP MK2 (and any additional connected amplifiers) to be drastically reduced when no input signal is present for more than 60 seconds. Once the Power Save Mode is active, the internal amplifier stages of the V TWELVE DSP MK2 and the Rem Out are switched off, thus significantly reducing power consumption. The amplifier returns to normal operation within 2 seconds as soon as a music signal is present at its input. The shutdown delay can be adjusted or completely disabled using the DSP PC-Tool software.

Start-stop capability
The power supply in the HELIX V TWELVE DSP MK2 amplifier ensures a stable internal voltage supply even during brief dips down to 6 volts. This guarantees that the HELIX V TWELVE DSP MK2 remains fully functional even when the engine is started.

DSP Features
TuneEQ
TuneEQ is an extremely flexible and exceptionally easy-to-use function for automated frequency response correction. A single measurement per audio channel or channel pair with a suitable measurement microphone (such as our MTK1) is all it takes for TuneEQ to automatically and precisely adjust the equalizer to the desired reference curve. TuneEQ utilizes the full functionality of the parametric equalizer, including center frequency, Q factor, and gain. And because the necessary, highly complex calculations run in the background, TuneEQ also saves a significant amount of time when tuning your sound.

RealCenter
The "RealCenter" function is a proprietary algorithm from Audiotec Fischer that emphasizes the monaural information of the left and right front channels to create a unique center signal. Unlike conventional methods that simply sum the channels, this system dynamically controls the center signal based on the stereo information content of the left and right channels. This means that the center channel will not reproduce a signal if only the left or only the right channel is delivering an audio signal. With conventional algorithms, the center channel would only be 6 dB quieter in this case. Audiotec Fischer's "RealCenter" thus enables a unique, wide soundstage – optimal for both driver and passenger! The disadvantages of a conventional center channel, such as an intrusive, narrow spatial soundstage, are finally a thing of the past.

Augmented Bass Processing
Audiotec Fischer's proprietary "Augmented Bass Processing" consists of two revolutionary sound features: "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" and "SubXpander". These are specifically designed to dramatically improve the bass response of subwoofers.

"Dynamic Bass Enhancement" ingeniously combines maximum deep bass foundation and high maximum sound pressure level – regardless of the music genre or radio settings. Depending on the input signal, "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" amplifies the lower frequency range and simultaneously varies the cutoff frequency of the subsonic filter. The result is significantly more powerful, deeper bass reproduction at low and medium volumes without the risk of mechanically or electrically overloading the subwoofer at high volumes. It's simply fascinating what kind of bass performance is suddenly possible.

For those who want the bass range to be even deeper and "blacker," the "SubXpander" can be activated. This adds subharmonic tones to the fundamental frequencies in the range between 50 and 100 Hz.
