Stunning Saint Laurent silk top and matching skirt from the 1982 fall runway, cut in an abstract print in saturated blue, purple, turquoise, blue and red with black trim. The top has an easy, gathered shape with a soft black velvet band framing the neckline and volume through the sleeves, which taper into long black velvet cuffs that fasten with 4 small round acetate buttons. The skirt falls straight from a wide black velvet waistband, letting the print hang smoothly and catch the light. The set has that late 1970's, early 1980's Saint Laurent balance of rich color, fluid silk, and structured velvet trim. Pieces also work well worn as separates.
