This Vintage Sony World Band Radio is Complete and in Good Physical Condition. However it does not power up with either Batteries or via a Mains Power Adaptor. Hence it is being offered for Parts Only / Spares & Repairs.

The Sony ICF-PRO80 is a highly collectible, vintage portable multi-band receiver and scanner introduced by Sony in 1987. Mimicking the physical form factor of a handheld walkie-talkie, it is renowned for packs of advanced wideband capabilities into a highly compact chassis

It is being Supplied with the Telescopic Aerial / PRO-80 Frequency Converter / Original Leather(ette?) Case and Carry Strap as Shown in the Photos.

Specifications:

  • Frequency Coverage: It covers 0.15–108 MHz natively (Longwave, Mediumwave /AM, Shortwave, and FM).
  • VHF Expansion: It uniquely included the FRQ-80 Frequency Converter block, which extends its coverage into the VHF-H band from 115.15–223 MHz. This extension allows users to listen to the 2-metre amateur radio band and maritime communications.
  • Modes: Supports AM, FM-Wide, FM-Narrow, and SSB (Single Sideband) for monitoring amateur radio utility transmissions.
  • Antenna Port: Equipped with a standard TNC antenna socket, allowing connectivity to external aerial arrays via BNC adapters.
  • Power Source: Operates via Four 1.5V AA batteries or an external 6V DC power supply. Neither of which are Included.
