There is a reason they are called CV joints — Constant Velocity joints. Unlike the original U-joint style half shafts found in many classic Datsuns, a CV joint is designed to transmit rotational power smoothly and consistently through its operating angle.
As suspension moves and axle angles change, the original U-joint half shafts can introduce variations in rotational velocity. A CV joint is specifically designed to maintain a more uniform transfer of rotational motion throughout its range of articulation.
The result is a smoother and more refined driveline, particularly on modified, lowered, or higher-performance Datsuns. Instead of changing the power your engine produces, the goal is to provide a smoother, more consistent path for transferring that power through the driveline and to the rear wheels.

INSTALLATION NOTE: Due to variations in original Datsun components, previous modifications, and vehicle-to-vehicle tolerances, minor grinding or clearancing may be required during installation. This may be necessary to allow the adapters to sit completely flush and to provide adequate clearance for the new mounting hardware.
This is considered normal minor fitting for this conversion and does not require modification of the CV axle itself.
