Ruthless Tide: The Heroes and Villains of the Johnstown Flood, America's Astonishing Gilded Age Disaster, written by Al Roker, is a 305 page, 6 1/4 X 9 1/4 inch hardcover book published by William Morrow/HarperCollins, New York. The copyright date is 2018, and this is a first edition: the copyright page states "First Edition" and the printing number line starts with "1." The author has signed (signature only, no inscription) the half-title page.

The book is in very good condition in a very good plus unclipped ($28.99) dustjacket, with gray boards, a black spine, and white spine titles.

Synopsis - Roker examines the incidents that led to the catastrophic flood of May 31, 1889 that destroyed the city of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, resulting in the deaths of 2,200 people. Illustrated with a section of black and white photos and document reproductions.

Condition Details - The book has a square spine, a very tight binding, and no marks, tears, turned down page corners or writing. The cover has sharp corners, very light edgewear, no soil or stains. The textblock edges have a very few tiny spots. The dustjacket (in new, protective Brodart) has very light edgewear, no soil, chips, or tears. No unpleasant odors.
