A Schuco Examico 4001 mechanical wind-up toy car first produced in Nuremberg, Germany in 1936. It was modeled after the classic BMW 328 Roadster.  It replicates real driving controls and has advanced mechanical clockwork engineering with a H-Pattern Gear Shift (utilizing a 4-speed manual gearbox going from slow to fast with an neutral idle position.)  It has a side-mounted button that simulates a clutch.  You have to press down on the clutch lever to unlock the reverse gear track. It has a tiny fully functional handbrake lever to start and stop the motor.  The steering wheel directly turns the front wheels.  This is a 1990's remake of a1950-1959 model stamped with "Made in Western Germany" on the bottom.  The car seems to work fine (barely used).  It comes with the original box, the key, and the instruction sheet (which is in German). The drawing on the box shows a windshield, but it does not have one so it might be missing.
