Rare vintage Polk Gulch promotional flag from San Francisco, California, measuring approximately 16” x 24” with an approximately 36” wooden staff.


The yellow and dark blue/black fabric flag features large POLK GULCH lettering and a distinctive western cowboy and bucking-horse graphic.


Polk Gulch Saloon was a well-known San Francisco bar located around Polk and Post Streets and is documented in San Francisco gay nightlife publications dating to at least the early 1970s. Polk Street became one of San Francisco’s historically significant LGBTQ nightlife districts before the Castro became the city’s best-known gay neighborhood.


An unusual surviving piece of San Francisco bar and LGBTQ nightlife memorabilia with excellent display appeal.
