Cette broche est un témoignage exceptionnel du XIXe siècle. Elle a été créée à partir d'une véritable monnaie en argent des États Pontificaux sous le règne du Pape Pie IX. Le revers affiche fièrement la date de 1867 et l'inscription PIVS IX PONT. MAX. AN. XXI.
À cette époque, transformer une pièce de monnaie en "Love Token" (bijou de sentiment) était une tradition : l'avers était poli pour laisser place à une gravure personnalisée, souvent offerte lors d'un événement marquant (mariage, départ ou baptême).
L'avers présente un monogramme magistral entrelacé (lettres S, M, A).
Le travail de gravure est d'une finesse rare : observez les détails hachurés dans le ruban du "S" et le relief des jambages.
C'est un travail d'orfèvre manuel, bien supérieur aux gravures simplistes que l'on trouve habituellement sur ces objets.

This brooch is an exceptional 19th-century artifact. It was created from an authentic silver coin minted in the Papal States during the reign of Pope Pius IX. The reverse proudly displays the date 1867 and the legend PIVS IX PONT. MAX. AN. XXI.

During this era, transforming a coin into a "Love Token" (sentimental jewelry) was a beloved tradition: one side was smoothed down to make room for a custom hand engraving, often gifted to mark a milestone event such as a wedding, a departure, or a baptism.
