You are bidding on a GOOD example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe 1st Model 1940's 8-Day Junghans Clock, Fl. 22600! This was used in many early German aircraft types, such as the Ar66, Ar68, Bu181, Bu133, Fw44, Fw56, and others!
Mounted on the main instrument panel, this clock needs no introduction. It was made famous throughout the war as one of the standard German Aircraft Cockpit Clocks. It was usually mounted on the front or side cockpit consoles.
Made of brass and aluminum, this first model Junghans was produced between 1938 and 1943. Though it is currently not functional, it is a VERY NICE example and retains 95% of its original finish! Some slight marks and scratches throughout. The hands still glow at night (must be charged with UV light), and "Junghans " is prominently stamped onto the face along with the "Fl. 22600". In addition to not being functional, the lower subdial is missing the second hand. Appears the escapement is damaged, so this will need to be cleaned and repaired for functionality. I have shown its location in the last photo. Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any Luftwaffe collection, display, or restoration project!
