A large, colorful, hand painted Chinese polychrome ginger jar with a design of roosters in a garden.
The hand thrown ginger jar has been decorated in over glazed enamels in a vivid hand-painted designs of roosters, flowers, birds, bok choy, and flying insects. There are fret work panels on the shoulder and a band of fruit in gilt and enamels is at the mouth.
The flat, unglazed, cut foot shows the white clay. The base is glazed and has an iron red stamped apocryphal Qianlong reign mark. The jar was produced during the late 20th Century.

8 in (20.3 cm) diameter x 8 ½ in (21.6 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lbs. 11.9 oz.
CONDITION
There are no breaks, chips, cracks or repairs. The enamels are fresh and bright. Even the gilding shows only very light wear.
