This check #1430 is drawn on the account of the Pacific Insurance Company of San Francisco issued H. D. Bacon Trustee on October 8, 1872.  This is check from an  account at the Bank of California headquartered in San Francisco and signed by the company's president.  It has an orange two cent revenue stamp imprinted on the front.  The Pacific Insurance Company was a major insurer on the West Coast prior to the San Francisco in 1906. The check has been punch cancelled.  See photo for condition and details.
