This is a really stunning white earthenware pharmacy storage jar with hand painted floral pattern around the word OPIUM. In an apothecary style with a circus tent style lid with blue and ochre hand-painted stripes.
On the base it is clearly marked:

GF stands for Gabriel Fourmaintraux a Faience pottery in Desvres, France
Fait main means hand made and Décor Meillonnas is a a traditional hand-painted floral style inspired by 18th-century Meillonnas pottery. Gabriel Fourmaintraux made these pots from the 1950s to the 1980s.
Ideal for display in any home. It would make a lovely gift for any collector and will make a striking display item. It could also be an incredible prop for a film, tv or theatre production.
