This wonderful French cognac cigarette dispenser is the epitome of the 1960s/70s era when smoking was cool and fashionable, the accompanying accessories were designed to be stylish features in the home.
Designed in the style of a bottle of Napoleon brandy, Courvoisier to be precise, with an integral musical box in the base. The music box, when wound up, should play when the cigarette dispenser is open, which it does, but it should also stop when the lid is closed. It does not stop. Anyone who is good at tinkering with things and putting them back together should be able to fix this by opening the bottom with the screws which are there. I have fixed this problem in other musical boxes in the past, but they were not in such great shape as this one and I don't want to risk making the situation worse by struggling to put is back together afterwards.
A delightful advertising piece and highly collectable marketing item. It holds up to 18 cigarettes and when you pull the top up, the cigarettes inside pop up and fan out and the musical box plays. Whether you smoke or not this could be a perfect decorative talking point for your vintage home bar, or mid century office.
It would make a wonderful gift for the right person and could be just what you need as a prop in a production set in the mid-century era.
In VERY GOOD vintage condition with only very minor cosmetic signs of age and past use. The musical box is in full working order but does not stop when the bottle is closed, as described above. Please see all photos and remember it is at least 50 years old and is pre-owned and pre-loved.
