This is a wonderful original period poncho. Almost impossible to find. Condition is excellent. Supple. Has one small tear shown in photo 9. Marked "A.124.MG" For Company A 124th Machine Gun. Inside is marked for the 5th Illinois Infantry. Also has the New York Depot mark inside. It will be very difficult to find another and probably almost impossible to improve on this.
