The j.Custom series, Ibanez's top-of-the-line series, is based on the concept of "a guitar that constantly pursues high playability and superior sound, assembled by some of Japan's leading skilled craftsmen using carefully selected materials."

The body is made of alder wood, known for its balanced, bright tone and rich sustain, and is laminated with AAA-grade flame maple with beautiful grain.

Furthermore, to meet the need for "lightweight without compromising the acoustic properties of the wood," the body surface has multiple holes approximately 3 cm in diameter.

The combination of maple and wenge wood in a 5-piece construction provides strength and a sound-oriented design.

This model features an asymmetrical neck shape designed for ease of playing and thinness.

While maintaining the same neck thickness at the nut, the shape becomes rounded towards the 6th string side, stabilizing the thumb's pivot point and enhancing playability for technical playing techniques.

This guitar features a special fretboard made of hard, highly responsive Makassar ebony, adorned with the iconic "Tree of Life" position inlay, a signature of J.Custom designs.

The neck joint is smoothly molded to create a seamless connection between the neck heel and body, a unique J.Custom finish designed for ultimate playability at the higher frets.

For pickups, the neck position features a PAF 36th Anniversary pickup known for its low output and warm, sweet tone; the middle position features a True Velvet pickup with a bright, noiseless sound; and the bridge position features a covered The Tone Zone pickup, known for its balanced output across the high and low frequencies and powerful sound.

A coil-tap switch is included for both the neck and bridge humbucker pickups, providing a wider range of sound variations.

The tremolo is the original Lo-Pro Edge tremolo, featuring an extremely low-profile design. By designing the unit to be as low as possible and positioning the fine tuner at the rear, the possibility of accidentally hitting it and throwing the tuning out of whack during playing is minimized.
