An extraordinary piece of 1950s Baltimore civic history: the original ceremonial bow cut by Mayor Thomas D’Alesandro Jr. during the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Hilton Street Under-Pass on May 22, 1953.
The lot includes the original black and yellow silk-like fabric ribbon bow stapled to a typed provenance card, along with its original typed keepsake envelope. D'Alesandro served as the 43rd Mayor of Baltimore and is notable as the father of former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and former Baltimore Mayor Thomas D'Alesandro III.
