Caughley Large Blue And White Flowers Spray Bell Shaped Mug c1780 Antique Georgian
For your perusal, is a lovely large mug made by Caughley. It is decorated with flowers and foliage in blue on a white background. The mug is of bulbous bell shape with a curved ridged strap handle. It dates to circa 1780, so the Georgian period.
The mug is in great condition for its age. The pattern is fine and bright, with some rubbing from wear. There are some firing, including frit in the glaze, age & usage marks, which are normal in ceramics of this age. The base rim has a bruise and short associated crack. There is a firing line inside from the time of manufacture. Please see photos as these form part of the description.

11.7cm tall, 8.5cm top diameter & 12.5cm wide including handle
