1986 Seoul 10th Asian Games Five-Coin Proof Set - Bank of Korea - Original Presentation Case

Offered here is a five-coin proof set issued by the Bank of Korea for the 10th Asian Games, held in Seoul from September 20 to October 5, 1986. All five coins remain sealed in their original mint capsules, seated in the original charcoal flocked presentation case with satin-lined lid bearing the gilt Seoul 1986 Asian Games emblem.

The 1986 Asian Games were Seoul's dress rehearsal for the 1988 Olympics, using the same venues and much of the same organizing apparatus. The coin program that accompanied them is considerably less common today than the Olympic issues that followed, with proof mintages of only 70,000 per type.
