Antique White Cotton Piqué Formal Waistcoat - White Tie / Evening Wear - Circa 1890s-1910s.
This is an original late-Victorian / Edwardian white formal waistcoat for white tie and tailcoat dress.
Fabric: White cotton piqué / marcella front, plain cotton back - the correct fabric for full dress evening wear. Ribbed piqué texture shows well in photos.
It has a low-cut deep V front, shawl / peak notch lapel, 3 fabric-covered buttons low at waist, 2 welt pockets at waist. It has an adjustable cinch strap with original silver-tone metal slider buckle stamped BOSTON on one side and FRANCE on the other - French-made tailoring hardware.
Good antique condition for display or study. Fabric is strong with no major tears. Expected age toning / light yellowing and staining, scattered light foxing spots, light storage creases, and a small rust mark near the buckle area as shown. Bottom button shows wear. No moth holes noted. See all photos for exact condition - sold as found, as-is antique textile.
This is an original 120+ year old garment, not a modern reproduction.
